This trip was in the fall of 1995 (October maybe?). The forcast was for rain/snow mix, so most the Ridge Roamers bailed. The few of us that ignored the forcast were well rewarded though.
It turned out to be a fairly short day. We spent most of the day playing on Quetico a 5.8, slightly overhanging, off-width. Later in the day we switched over to Superior something or other, an incredible 5.9 hand crack. We also spent some time on a 5.10 hand-finger crack.
This is Elephant Rock located in Lincoln park a couple blocks from my mom's old house. It was a fun place to play.
In the foreground is one of Palisade Head's faces. In the distance, you can see Shovel Point tapering off into the Lake.
A closer (and better lit) shot of part of Palisade Head.

This the the 5.9 hand crack. This guy is really botching it. You don't need anything outside of the crack itself. Unfortunately, we didn't get any pictures of our climbers doing it properly.
On our trip home we stopped at Split Rock Lighthouse.
