- It was a nice bright sunny day, temps near 28°F on the summits, closer to 40°F in the valley
- There was an inch or two of fresh snow, and no tracks ahead of me :)
- Crampons were pretty essential for all but the first and last 1.5 miles
- Poles were as always useful.
- The chimney was iced, the detour to the north was iced, but easily
walked up with crampons.
- Great views along the ridge an on the top of Mt Osceola.
- I only met one other solo hiker the whole day :)
