Newbie Help
This is some basic information for new vampire wars players.
- When you start, follow the little in-game tutorial, it's pretty helpful.
- First you need to get your 5 kills so you can save
autostance crane (this will help you fight, and the crane stance is a good place to start)
recall (this will take you to one of the central locations)
say take me home (this will transport you to the newbie area)
get handbook then read hanbook(this will give some useful hints)
d (to step down, there should now be exits in all directions)
- step in each compass direction and kill the monster there (don't forget down too)
save
backup
- now three basic spells
prac create food
prac create spring
prac continual (until adept)
- when you are hungry,
c create;g mushroom; eat mushroom
- when you are thirsty,
c 'create spring; drink spring
- when it is dark and you need to see,
c cont; g ball; wear ball
- the best weapon for you right now is a soulblade
prac soul
c soul;wear soul (you can do this twice and wield one in each hand)
- someone may also send you a pill of soulblades early on, when you eat it, it will create soulblades more powerful than what you can create. Use the new ones!
- at this point you will want to begin to collect experience and eq
- as you continue killing mobs, play with the
autostance (crane, mongoose, bull, viper) before you attack. This will start you on your way training your stances.
- you can use
level to check your skill with weapons, stances, and spells.
- you will want to begin to
train hp, mana, or move up. Get these to equal values and keep them that way. There are penalties later in the game if they are not equal.
- also fairly soon, you will want to train your
str, int, wis, dex, and con. They can each go up to 18 for a small amount of xp, so get them there.
- you can also prac a whole list of spells (
prac for a list)
- you will also want to get the newbie eq once you are about 500 in size
say take me home; all w; n (this will take you to the area with newbie eq
- this area is a small circle. If you kill all the monsters and collect all the eq they have, you should end up with 15 pieces of armor (plus the two weapons you created earlier) for 17 pieces of eq
- this is the best armor you will have for a while :)
- you will notice that as you pick up the newbie eq, it will autoclaim, this is very useful.
- if you drop a claimed item,
call (item)
- if you die, you will automatically
call all
- any unclaimed eq (or gold) you were carrying before death will still be on your corpse until it decomposes
- use
claim (item) along with 5000exp to claim additional items (like your soul blades)
- if you notice that a piece of eq stops you from losing a bodypart, it will be listed as damaged (
eq). c repair to fix the damage before it breaks.
- good areas for bashing are the dwarven daycare and elemental canyon
- as you get a little larger, add the shire and later the dwarven mines
That should be a good start...
